Tear gas for schoolteachers

I just got back from Gua Musang only to hear news of what happened to the thousands of GMP (Gerakan Mansuhkan PPSMI) demonstrators as they marched peacefully toward the Istana Negara.
I am astonished at the way they have been treated. Was it necessary to tear gas Malay teachers and linguists, and a 76 year-old national laureate?
This government appears to be no longer capable of dealing with the rakyat without the use of force. This comes at the end of a week in which the Executive Branch has violated fundamental principles of the Constitution, and deployed the instruments of state against elected representatives of the people. A government sworn to uphold the Constitution now tramples upon it, and sets itself against the rakyat it was elected and appointed to serve.
Umno is utterly alienated from its meaning, purpose and spirit. No longer the party of the Malay schoolteacher but of the power that directs water cannons and teargas at them. No longer the grassroots party of the Malays, but of opportunists who hide behind the Rulers while they fan hatred between the people.
Tengku Razaleigh-Former Finance Minister
Some people say....
The writing is on the wall. This type of government make the rakyat go for blood. This is how "bloody" revolutions come about and we will roll a few heads to the ground. The brainless home minister and the ruthless IGP will pay the price first.
I also condemn the govt's brutish use of teargas against these protesters. They have the birthright to voice their say too! They are not armed, they are not terrorists! They have the fundamental right to air their opposition too, regardless our viewpoints that Maths & Science shld still be taught in English!
Dear Tengku,
You are the one that can save Malaysia.
Forget about saving UMNO.
Save Malaysia first.
UMNO is like a 50 years old tree guarding a mother tree, but now it is very sick but it won’t die easily. There are too many parasites on the tree now trying to protect themselves from dying, that they suck and suck more nutrition till the mother tree is getting ill too.
Its roots are too deep to clean and destroy. But once you are the PM, you can deny them the sunshine and water, till the root rot by itself and kill all the parasites. Then you plant a new seed, grow a new plant to guard the mother tree again.
You’re the only who can do it. Believe in your destiny.
My dear Ku Li,
UMNO baru is not the party of the school teacher as UMNO used to be. UMNO baru is the party of the contractor and the alibaba. It is not your UMNO.
Recently we have not seen the softer hand of Pak Lah but the harder and rather irrational hand of NTR. That worries a vast majority of Malaysians.
Further, NTR has a large number of questions to be answered from Altantuya, P Bala, Saiful, Eurocopter, Fauzi Muda to the allegations of money politics inducing for the frogs in Perak. NTR is certainly innocent until proven otherwise.
However, as it stands he is hoping to become the next PM soon. Although I do not believe all the stories listed above about him, I worry that if any or some are true. It would then be a disaster for Malaysia.
Just imagine if some parts of the Altantuya stories are true and some foreign Governments have proof of it. If NTR is the PM and in the dealings with those countries, they make it known to PM, NTR that they have the proof. They also state that unless Malaysia agrees to their terms, the matter would be made public. What would PM, NTR do?
All in all, unless NTR clears his name in a way where the rakyat accept that it is done in a clear and transparent manner; there is great danger for Malaysia. For the sake of Malaysia and its entire population, we must do all we can to legally stop him from becoming PM if he does not clear his name before becoming PM.
Before going further, the writer states that he does not and has never belonged to any political party and has always been a neutral observer.
Here is what the rakyat can do:
The position of the members of the Malaysian Parliament is:
Barisan Nasional Total 137
UMNO Peninsula 65
UMNO Sabah 13
Other Barisan National 59
Non Barisan National Total 84
UMNO Sabah is listed separately from Peninsula as the politics there is even more on a boil than in the peninsula. UMNO Sabah could possibly change back to USNO.
To be PM needs 112 members of parliament to support you.
Each concerned Malaysian must immediately list at least 10 close friends and convince them that unless NTR transparently clears his name in the next few days, they all undertake to take three actions:
1. Write to their local Member of Parliament and state that they are totally opposed to NTR becoming PM without clearing his name and if their Member votes for NTR their votes will go to the opposition in the next election.2. Get each of their friends to form their own circle of at least 10 friends to increase the number of people writing to their local Members of Parliament3. After exhausting your circle of friends, reach out to acquaintances, neighbors and every one else to do the same.
Time is very short; every one has to organize and work well, fast and effectively to send so many letters that no MP can ignore them. Start on it now, today.
If there are sufficient letters no MP can ignore them.
Yes, we can and we must – we must save Malaysia.
